Question by misshappy: How could i change my gmail address on my thunderbolt?
I am trying to keep my apps and my contacts on my HTC verizon thunderbolt. On my thnderbolt My old gmail address has my ex’s last name in it and i am now creating a new gmail address. I am wondering how I can put the new address on my thunderbolt phone but keep my contacts and apps and everything else. Is there a way to do that?

You could add a second GMail account without removing your current one.

You can also export your contact list from the old email and import to your new email.

If you have two GMail accounts, you can toggle between them in your Market if you’d like (Menu button, Accounts)…

(Sorry if that sounded like a fake “frequently asked question” from the gmail marketing department ;-)
But… gmail seems to be effective and reliable in its filtering of spam, moreso than some other email tools I’ve tried, which often require extensive periods of “training the filter”). So what’s gmails secret?

There is no way to do this. You need to create a new account that is associated with your old one. Here’s how:
1. Click on your gmail name at the top right of your page and click on Account settings
2. Then under Personal Settings, find Email addresses and click Edit
3. It will show you your personal information and Add an alternate email address to your account
4. It will tell you about it and then you Add an additional email address

The context menus in MS Word and Excel allow for attaching and sending emails with a simple right click of the mouse. Well it works GREAT if you are using Outlook. But how many people really use Outlook exclusively outside of business? Is there a SIMPLE work around application for this that won’t require me to manually edit my registry or take me to some 3rd party application each time I want to send a document? There has to be a market for this!

The standard Gmail interface does a lot more. You can drag and drop multiple file attachment rather than attaching one workbook at a time.

I have a friend whose main email account is yahoo, but he’s telling me bought this device and that I should contact him ate a new gmail account he has for that cell phone in particular. Does it comes with that email or is it the company policy? He has Verizon.

Using Mozilla Firefox, install PH Proxy. PH Proxy is an add-on for Firefox and can be downloaded by clicking the following buttons, located on the Toolbar:

This is about as straightforward as it gets! Choose between “Gmail CSV” (a neat idea if you have more than one Gmail account or want to share your address book with a colleague or friend, but generally probably not that useful) and “Outlook CSV” for the ubiquitous Microsoft Outlook email system. Before you panic because you’re running Apple Mail or Thunderbird or some other email client, check your documentation: almost all modern mail programs can import Outlook format address books.

Once you choose the format that best fits your needs, click on Export Contacts and in the blink of an eye, you’ll have a filename like “gmail-to-outlook.csv” on your computer, ready to be imported into another email program.

Oh! And one helpful tip: Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheets live and breath comma-separated-values (CSV) files, so if you wanted to prune your address book before importing or distributing it, opening up the file in a spreadsheet could be your simplest solution.

Hello, type the email addresses in the BCC field, remember you have limits when you send emails on Gmail. In an effort to fight spam and prevent abuse, Google will temporarily disable your account if you send messages to more than 500 recipients or if you send a large number of undeliverable messages. If you use a POP or IMAP client (Microsoft Outlook or Apple Mail, e.g.), you may only send a message to 100 people at a time. Your account should be re-enabled within 24 hours.
