Question by anon: How do you promote your products & business on FACEBOOK?
I am selling products all over the Canada by Internet, but I also want to get to customers by FACEBOOK marketing, without much cost. Can anybody help me to market and promote business on social network ?

The underlying operating system is the same between the two. Its windows 2003, the difference is that additional applications that come bundled with the Small Business Edition.
Ideally in a larger company windows server is installed on one machine and runs one application using seperate servers for email, database and proxy services. Since small businesses usually can’t afford many different hardware and software systems SBS comes with several useful applications and is designed to be installed just one machine. There are two versions of SBS the premium version has Exchange(Email), SQL (Database) and ISA (Proxy/firewall) server.

The Standard SBS edition only comes with Exchange. The other services you see on the microsoft site also come included in plain windows server 2003 however microsoft includes some installation scrips with SBS to make the insall process easier.
It’s microsoft’s attempt to get in on the small business market with applications that are often used by some of the biggest enterprises. You save money over buying the applications individually however the limitations are you can only use one physical computer. You have to buy a transition license to “split” the component applications onto multiple machines once your business and needs expand.
SBS is a good deal if you can only afford one server and are prepared to put all your eggs in one basket. If your server goes down so does everything. If you have a lot of users you may also need to higher end hardware, this is when sometimes many low cost servers could meet your needs better than one single high end server.

I currently have a Macbook Pro but it is a personal computer. It’s is 3 years old and has a cracked screen so I’m in the market for a new computer.
I sell items online and already have a website set up. The majority of the graphic design I need done I contract out. Whichever computer I have will be used for editing pictures, email, book keeping and social media marketing.
I’m leaning towards the new imac but the price difference makes me reconsider. Which do you suggest and why?

If I were you, and trying to do what you are, I’d create a flyer (*.jpg poster for what you do) using lots of colors and the appropriate level of professionalizm suited to what you do. Then I’d spend ages just joining Facebook groups and posting it on the group wall. Sure, you’ll get banned from numerous groups, possibly some hate mail, but you’ll raise the chance of someone who needs what you do seeing it.
If, for example, your website is for web design, join computer/internet groups and put them there (obviously joining parenting groups or something like that would be silly but relevant-semi relevant groups’d be a good place to start).

I made a facebook page for my business. I then tried searching for it but when I locate the page, I have to log into facebook to view it. I would like to know if I can set up my page where anyone can view it even if they don’t have a facebook account. Is this possible? Sure, create a domain name at GoDaddy.com, it’s about 10 dollars per year. Then you’ll need to find a basic web host, and from there, all you need to do is set up some sort of photography site. I don’t know if you know how to create layouts, but there are simple Flash-based programs that allow you to import photos and make them presentable.

Graphic artist.
I do not see any info on whether you know basic html. You will be able to design a website with your skills but if you want it to have any scripting code in it you may be out of luck.
